Things of Interest Today - New Business Model around stock photos

With the cost of stock photos from Getty getting to expensive for small sites, here comes Stipple, a San Francisco-based startup that wants to change the way online photo licensing works in a big way.
We’ve just flipped the business model. This is a way for publishers to earn money by publishing photos,” Stipple CEO Rey Flemming said in an interview this week.   Seems they embed ads into the photos...

"Facebook’s Timeline, a re-imagined profile page that captures the history of a user, was the most visually stunning announcement today at the f8 conference. But the new initiative is more than just a design flourish. It’s a bigger push by Facebook to mine the opportunity in the past, giving people a lasting resource and digital diary from all their activities."
