Uber's secret plan to take over the tranportation world

When Uber, the limousine and taxi-fetching app company, was valued on at $18.2 billion, a common thought among rational investors was "Another over valued and over hyped startup"   One would think hey they don't even own a car.  But that's genius, UBER does not have to buy cars, maintain them, buy gas or tires or wash them...

Here's a great article on the evaluation

But UBER's long term vision is much more than just expanding to other cities... It's imagining a world in 5 or 10 years where half the UBER cars are self driving cars based on a Google like self driving technology.  Something like the original Total Recall vision of the taxi.  But this vision of  of a fully automated fleet is a radically different business model.  It's more like an AVIS or Car Rental agency by actually owing the cars and having an infrastructure of having automated cars refuel be it gas or electric without a driver.  Nice vision and many new businesses could be built around the future vision...
